Purpose:
The Building Organizer will cooperate with the Cleaning Custodian and the Maintenance and Repair Custodian, the pastor, staff and members of the church so that the mission of the church may go forward smoothly. The Building Organizer will coordinate the usage and setup of the church property in order to provide a hospitable place where people can connect to God’s family, Word, and way of life.
Accountability: This employee of HRC shall agree with and maintain a lifestyle that is consistent with HRC’s statement of belief. The Building Organizer shall be accountable to the congregation with day to day oversight provided by the Property Committee. In the Property Committee’s absence, oversight will be provided by the Deacons.

 

Responsibilities:
• The Building Organizer will see that the church building is open and ready for use at the regular services and for all scheduled meetings and events. He/she will close, or make arrangements for someone to close the building after use. This includes lights, heat, locking doors, and whatever else is required.


• The Building Organizer is to see that furniture is placed as required for Sunday school, mid-week services, and other meetings or events. He/she shall control lighting, ventilation, and heating within the church.


• The Building Organizer must have the building prepared for weddings and funerals and assist in setting up
tables and chairs for weddings and clean-up. (Help will be required from the wedding party for large receptions). The Building Organizer will be the contact for funeral homes to use the church.


• If extra help is needed, or if extra work is required, the Property Committee will make arrangements for extra
help. the Building Organizer is to work with the Cleaning Custodian and the Maintenance and Repair Custodian to coordinate duties that may need assistance and/or coverage.

 

Hours:
The position calls for 8-10 hours per week.

 

Evaluation:
An annual performance review will be conducted by the Personnel Committee. The Personnel Committee will
review annually the compensation package and make recommendations to the consistory.
